Destiny Fulfilled

It seems most of my friends really wanted to be the ones seeing Destiny's Child this weekend instead of me, but truth be told, seeing a celeb is not as glamorous as everyone makes it out to be. Of course they are beautiful and all that, but especially through the eyes of a reporter, meeting a celeb can be quite a nervewracking experience.

There are the publicists who try to be your friend but suddenly give you the evil eye when you try to push the envelope by asking a question that's borderline over the top. There are the fights with the paparazzo who are trying to make a living just as much as you are, by pushing and shoving and snapping away at every impromptu pose by that perfect celeb.
There's the celeb herself, who diva-like or not, doesn't really care to talk to reporters and would rather avoid them at all costs. Not to mention the fact that they tend to look down on reporters (who are lower on the list then stalkerish fans) because reporters are forever shoving tape recorders in their face and asking silly questions about their personal lives. (Hey, we have to find the spin to every story!!)

While it was fun meeting Destiny's Child this weekend and telling all my friends about it, the commute was harrowing and the event was a bit on the stressful side. Sometimes its better to just avoid these things and live the normal life that you lead, rather then running after that perfect celebrity moment where you can catch a not so original phrase on tape then play it back for yourself later, only to hear the end of a sentence and tons of static-y background noise.

Nonetheless, it was fun to have the experience, its not everyday you meet such big celebs as Destiny's Child and at least the pics are good.
