How Gallant! How Chivalrous!

Angelina Jolie was looking at a cowboy painting adorned with real bullets at Unique Finds, Inc. in NYC and told the antiques dealer and I quote, "I'm going to tell my husband about this," before leaving the gallery. So what did our gallant magazine do? We bought the painting!! We bought this lovely Western collectors item (note the hint of sarcasm here) for $750 then gave it to Angelina on the set of her new movie The Good Shepherd in Manhasset, NY. She was amazed of course. "This is crazy! I was looking at this," she spurted, "You just made my day!" Our reporter was told she was not allowed to mention a certain Mr. Pitt's name on set so she quipped, "We thought it would be perfect for your Jesse James." And of course, Brad Pitt is currently in Canada filming "The Assassination of Jesse James."

How compassionate we are! How noble and gallant! How chivalrous! In no way were we benefitting from this generous donation. In no way we were using this for our own self-promotion!!! And yet, this week's Life & Style Weekly headline on the story of the gift given to Angelina reads, "Life & Style's ENGAGEMENT Gift to the Happy Couple!" (pgs. 40-41) and somehow our cover story of the week happens to be how Brad and Angelina are getting ready to wed! (pgs. 36-39) No word yet on whether Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are really getting engaged.

This is a true story!

In other news, I was given another reporting event this weekend. I am happily meeting Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) and Cynthia Nixon (Sex & the City) among other celebs at the Central Park Film Festival premiere for Little Manhattan.
