More Great News
It's hard to be happy when the West Bank is in shambles. I feel guilty about sharing my good fortune with everyone when Jewish settlers who rightfully belong in Gush Katif, Kfar Darom and other areas are forcefully being evicted from their homes by their own people. And Ariel Sharon, who was elected to office based on his right wing policies and the idea that he will never give up the settlements to the Palestinians---well don't even get me started on him!!!!!
Anyway, we must all remain positive in this dreary time. I have Shabbos coming up to think about all this and I'm still highly looking forward to my upcoming trip to Israel in October/November right after Simchat Torah! (Too bad I'm there for the actual festivities.) But let me share the good news.
It appears as if I will be getting an interview with Ladies Home Journal in a couple of weeks! After sending a resume and cover letter to an online database for the Meredith Corporation a couple weeks ago, I assumed the position had already been filled...as I did not get a reply. Lo and behold, I got a call yesterday from an assistant editor at the magazine who said a few positions were open and she'd be calling me again in a couple of weeks to set up an interview. I hope she calls!
Otherwise, I have been rather busy at work playing Mr. Bossman at my job. My boss, the research chief of the magazine, has been out the past couple of days and I have been sitting over his desk and taking over his duties. I have had barely any free time to do anything between dishing out layouts, looking over reporting files, answering questions from the lawyer and other editors as well as fact checking the regular finals. My day has been almost completely full with no time to spare (except writing this entry of course, pathetic, huh?) and I really feel like I have a weight on my shoulders and lots of responsibliites. Well, I can handle it and it makes me feel accomplished.
Last night, Eugene, Vanessa, and I hit up Joey's in Clifton for their Thursday night free-for-all. I love that place, its just so cool. The atmosphere is just so hip and chill. Love it! Eugene and I danced all night and Vanessa danced with the slew of hotties that always surround her. We saw Eugene's Russian friends there too. It was great!!
I haven't been studying Hebrew as much as I would like to, maybe this weekend will give me somewhat of a chance. Still, big plans ahead and looking forward to it!!!
